Semantics are concerned with the relationship between symbols, words and their meanings. Hard as it is to believe, the first sentence here is in itself an example of a sentence involving the said rules. This equally applies to sentences spoken or written in other languages. Writing or speaking any sentence in a way that is easily understood and interpreted by a reader or listener will automatically conform to the semantic, syntactic and pragmatic rules of the English language.
